About the Webinar:

In our ongoing commitment to fostering safer urban environments, we are excited to invite you to the third installment of our webinar series. This session will delve into civil society (CSOs) efforts across the world.

We know that CSOs role in providing and fostering co-creation practices and services has expanded beyond just advocacy in cities. While some support basic services and critical social infrastructure that is not always met by local government, others play a key role in building sustainable social, ecological, economic, and cultural practices.

At the same time, improving safer urban environments depends not only on what urban governments fund and regulate, but also on how they practically enable, encourage and support the efforts of local citizen groups, NGOs, as well as the private and non-profit sectors.

Highlights of the session:

  • Learn from bottom-up practices: Understanding the role of civil society initiatives in co-creating safer spaces and local communities.
  • Global urban planning efforts:  Discuss the enablersfor local action and what challenges CSOs are facing in cities, and on what levels
  • Interactive Dialogue: A platform to share your city’s experiences and learn from a growing community of practice
  • Towards a Global Knowledge Platform: Contributing ideas for a repository of tools and practices to aid the planning of safer cities globally.
