“Structuring Settings + Setting Structures: Anchoring Frames of Freedom with Geometry and Memory”
Building cities in India is perhaps more diverse than anywhere in the world. It has a population of 1.3 billion, scattered over subcontinent of extreme climatic variations, geographies, and histories. Today, India is undergoing an epochal transformation. From a country of villages it is becoming urban, a controversial transformation. The thin line separating urban India from its rural counterparts is blurred, allowing pockets of rural India to coexist within the quickly growing cities. Among tension created by these two poles of life there exists a strong bond of inter-dependence, without which, urban India would lose its unique character.
